Terms of Service
Last updated 21 June 2026
Plain version
Nolemy organizes what real people already said in public. It is information, not advice. You hold your own key, and we cannot recover it for you. Records you publish are public and signed by you. We can remove them, but we cannot secretly change them.

#1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms govern your use of Nolemy: the macOS application, the website at nolemy.com, and The Public Record (the published records at nolemy.com/r). By downloading the app, creating an identity, or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Nolemy.
These Terms are an agreement between you and Nolemy (“Nolemy”, “we”, “us”). If anything here conflicts with a separate written agreement you have with us, that agreement controls.
#2. What Nolemy is, and is not
Nolemy is a mirror. You highlight a claim, promise, or guarantee anywhere on your screen, and Nolemy compresses what real people have already reported about it across public community platforms into a single structured record.
Nolemy organizes public testimony. It does not author it. The quotes in a report come from third parties on public platforms, and each is linked to its source so you can read the original.
Nolemy is information, not advice. Nothing it returns is legal, financial, medical, or professional advice, and nothing is a recommendation to buy, avoid, or act. Community testimony can be incomplete, mistaken, outdated, or contested. Always check the linked sources and use your own judgement before you act.
#3. AI-generated analysis
Nolemy’s analysis is produced by an automated system that organizes third-party testimony. It is information, not a statement of fact. The structure, the framing, and the selection of quotes are generated, and an automated system can misread, misattribute, or overstate. Treat every report as a starting point and verify the linked sources yourself.
Where a report shows a number, a timeline, or a pattern, that summary stands or falls on the evidence beneath it. The confidence in every report is labelled, not invented. When the evidence is thin, the report says so rather than manufacturing certainty.
#4. Your identity and your key
Your account is a cryptographic key pair derived from a 12-word recovery phrase generated on your device. That phrase is your only credential. It never reaches our servers. We store only the public key, which is held in the macOS Keychain on your Mac.
You are responsible for keeping your recovery phrase safe. Because we never receive it, we cannot reset it, recover it, or restore access if it is lost. Anyone who holds your phrase can act as you.
#5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Nolemy to break the law, infringe rights, or harass, threaten, or target any person;
- Attempt to forge, tamper with, or defeat the signing, verification, or anti-abuse systems;
- Probe, scrape, overload, or disrupt the service, or circumvent rate limits and quotas;
- Create accounts to manipulate The Public Record, including coordinated or automated publishing;
- Misrepresent a record, or present an altered or unverifiable record as authentic.
#6. The Public Record
When you publish, you create a public record at nolemy.com/r. You cannot type a record into being. The app can only publish a report our engine itself produced. There is no free-text field. Each published record is signed by your key on your device and carries a fingerprint anyone can verify, so tampering shows.
Published records are intended to be durable and may be indexed by search engines. By publishing, you make the record public and accept that it concerns real products, services, and organizations, and quotes third-party testimony about them.
You are responsible for your decision to publish. We may decline to publish, and we may hide, withdraw, or remove any record (see Section 7).
#7. Moderation and removal
We may, at our discretion and without any obligation to host content, hide, withdraw, or remove records, restrict or ban accounts, and block abuse. For example, where content is unlawful, fraudulent, fabricated, or part of coordinated manipulation.
Readers can flag a record for review. Flags surface a record to us. They never automatically hide it. A withdrawn record leaves the public web and returns a “gone” response.
#8. Third-party content and sources
Reports quote and link to content on third-party platforms (for example Reddit, Hacker News, YouTube, Bluesky, Trustpilot, X, and public forums). We do not control, endorse, or guarantee that content, and linked sites have their own terms and privacy practices.
Confidence in every report is labelled, not invented. When the evidence is thin, the report says so.
#9. Corrections and takedowns
Integrity is the product. If you find a fabricated quote in a record, tell us. Once we have confirmed it, we remove it and publish a correction within one business day.
If you believe a record is defamatory, infringes your rights, or unlawfully concerns you, email hello@nolemy.com with the record link and the specific issue. We review every notice, act where appropriate (including removal), and aim to acknowledge you promptly.
#10. Payments
Nolemy is free to try. Nolemy Pro is a paid subscription sold and processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Billing, cancellation, and refunds are described in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
#11. Disclaimers
Nolemy is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any report is complete or correct.
#12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nolemy will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on a report or on third-party content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.
#13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nolemy from claims arising out of your use of the service, the records you publish, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
#14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, announced. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
#15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at Nolemy’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence grants you rights that cannot be waived by agreement, nothing in these Terms limits them.
Questions about these Terms go to hello@nolemy.com.
